The SyneRAID-300S is an
intelligent Mini-RAID subsystem solution offering fault-tolerant data protection. It
is 100% host transparent and operating systems independent therefore it requires no vendor
unique device drivers and it's associated problems.
It is a full featured data protection
subsystem supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1, 3, and 5, with pager and fax failure
notifications, and optional SAF-TE compliance features. The main RAID subsystem consists
of a RAID array controller and 3 hot-swappable 1" height SCA drive trays and it's
based on the 3 half height (3 x CD-ROM) form-factor. You can easily integrate it into any
standard chassis or External enclosure.
The SCSI host interface can provide
throughput up to 80mb/s or 160mb/s utilizing U2 or U3 SCSI LVD technology to the host
computer. The unit can provide a secondary U2/80mb or U3/160mb SCSI/LVD clustering
interface (Optional). It is the ideal storage solution for applications requiring
high data throughput, high availability, and flexibility in configuration.
The SyneRAID-300S supports both U2 or U3
SCSI drives with SCA-80pins interface. Installation is done via an easy to use menu
system on the subsystem controller. Other subsystem functions available from the
controller front panel are drive array/drive status, statistics, and array configuration.
Front panel LED indicators provide real time drive activity and fault indicators. Remote
array management is through a RS-232 terminal serial port interface accessible to any PC
or terminal.
The SyneRAID-300S RAID subsystem is designed for achieving the heights reliability and
performance through the use of a backplane design eliminating the problems associated with
cable connections and 2 fans for controlling its internal environment. Its modular,
scalable design allowing for quick and virtually effortless expansion when storage needs
increase.
